What is a dropper post and what advantages does it provide? A dropper post allows the rider to quickly change the height of the seat while ascending and descending without having to stop the bike and manually adjust it. Just a press of the button and it instantly changes height. It is safer while descending as it keeps the seat out of the way when keeping your weight back. The major drawback to it is the price. It is rather expensive although for those who ride regularly it is an absolute necessity on touch terrain.
