Maclennan Park

The first trail review in Topeka is Maclennan Park. Also known as the Governors Mansion. My first comment is make sure it has been warm and dry for a few days. The trails end up like mud pits and it makes it very difficult to get through. Also ride the trail clockwise. If you go counterclockwise you will end up riding uphill through a lot of technical terrain almost the entire time. There are lots of different trails each with their own level of difficulty. Red trail is the most technical and most fun. There are plenty of opportunities to practice skills. It's also a really good trail to learn how to enduro on switchbacks. It is a very busy trail when it's warm so make sure to understand all rules of the trail before riding. Yield to those that are walking, and when taking a break move your bike to the side.
